Apologies for the broken link on the order page. We were unaware of the problem and have now repaired it.
The DaVinci paintings and drawings below show a remarkable consistency in strangeness, always in the center of the artwork and usually at eye level.
All images were obtained using Formation Animator's Snapshot Overlay process, 4 rotations around the Y axis.
It's highly unlikely that DaVinci had any means for overlaying images, or any concern with doing so. Like the concept of reverse speech, the symbology appearing in the overlaid paintings is purely subconscious.
DaVinci's self portrait. The centered eyeball on the overlay image appears in many of the overlaid images. Note the very faint pyramid shape; the base of the pyramid runs through the very bottom of the middle eye socket.
Again, the center eyeball shows a winged symbol.
The overlay's neck area clearly shows the base of a chalice.
The center of the head area: a common shape in DaVinci paintings.
The upper forehead shows a gargolye head?
The center of the image from left to right shows the ornate symbology common to overlaid DaVinci paintings.
Two become three.
The head: a new species of animal?
Again with the symbol in the center pair of hands.
Yet again, the center symbology.
Although small and faint, another head appears just above dead center of the image.
An apparent eyeball in the top center.
The entire image reflects the common DaVinci symbology.
More of the same style symbol in the animal's head.
Top center of the combined head: a gingerbread man?
The center eyeball has returned; the Mona Lisa chalice is back around the neck area, and although elongated, the pyramid has made a return appearance around the center eye.
The center of the head up top shows a gargoyle-like head very similar to the prior image above.
Between the heads: above, our common symbol, below, the back of another head?
